| "The Advanced track is my favourite for first timers. It is a lovely flowing and inviting course that rides really well." Eventing March 2003 | ||||
| We are extremely proud of our three beautifully built cross-country courses, changes to which have have been designed in recent years by Captain Mark Phillips. His designs are fulfilled by our Chief Course Builder - Dave Prince with the help of David Carpenter in an all year round effort. | ||||

We feel that all the courses are flowing but require both accuracy and determination. They are
galloping, inviting, built with big solid timber and take advantage of the natural features of the
Estate. The pre-novice course is aimed at first timers whereas the advanced being up to height and
providing an excellent run for those aiming at an autumn three-day event. The Novice is testing but
fair and all three tracks require a fit horse. The setting at Brockenhurst Park could not be better
and all three courses make use of the undulating permanent pasture and natural features including the
water, the bluebell woods and the famous avenue.
The courses are changed and updated each year with several new fences being added each to each track, in 2005 we added a brand new water complex with the much aclaimed and beautifully carved Advanced Duck Jump. We spend a lot of time and effort ensuring that the ground is as well prepared as it can be for an August event: take-offs and landings are dressed as necessary, we rotovate/aerate the track and much of the course is roped off throughout the year to keep the going good. Keep looking at these pages for updates on the 2006 construction! |
